We are not building another account around your things.

ToteTally is a personal, local-first way to remember what is in your own totes. Its boundaries are deliberate: no ToteTally account, ad profile, developer-operated cloud, or household membership system.

A deliberate kind of small

ToteTally exists to answer a practical question: where did I put that? It is intentionally a personal inventory utility, not an all-purpose collaboration platform. Keeping the job focused lets the app stay useful offline and keeps more of your household data under your control.

If you need a live inventory shared by several people, ToteTally is not currently that product. Other tools can serve that need well; ToteTally has chosen a different one.

Not account-driven

There is no ToteTally login, profile, password, or account to maintain. Creating, editing, and searching your inventory does not depend on signing in to a service run by ToteTally.

On Apple devices, optional personal iCloud sync uses the Apple Account already managed on the device. That is an Apple service, not a ToteTally account, and the local app remains useful when iCloud is unavailable.

Not ad-funded or tracking-heavy

ToteTally has no ads, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or sale of user data. It does not need an engagement profile to decide which advertisement to show you next.

Those are product facts, not a vague privacy label. The ToteTally Privacy Policy explains what stays on the device, what optional Apple features can process, and what happens when you export a copy yourself.

Not dependent on a developer-operated cloud

ToteTally has no custom API, hosted customer database, or sync server operated by the developer. The core experience works locally: create and edit inventory, search it, attach photos, make QR labels, and export or restore a portable backup.

Optional personal iCloud can keep a private snapshot for your own Apple devices. It is an extra recovery and sync path, not the place ToteTally requires your inventory to live. You can also follow the portable backup and restore steps to keep a copy you control.

Not a household-sharing workspace

In ToteTally, a household is the collection of locations, containers, and items one person manages together. It is not a group account. The app does not offer household invitations, member roles, or shared inventory access.

Printing or sharing a QR label is different from sharing access. The label contains an opaque container identifier, not an item list, and it opens a container only where the matching inventory already exists. See the QR label guide for the practical details.

What ToteTally is built to be

  • A fast, personal map of locations, containers, and items
  • Offline creation, editing, search, photos, and QR labels
  • Portable export, import, and recovery you can understand
  • Optional personal Apple iCloud sync without access sharing
  • A product paid for by customers, not by advertisers

That last choice connects directly to the owner’s one-time purchase philosophy.

ToteTally is not publicly available yet. iOS and Android are both Coming Soon, with no public App Store or Google Play listing to link today. This page describes the product boundary, not a claim that the app can already be purchased.
