1. Record the item before it disappears
Start with the item name that you would actually search for: pickleball paddle. Add the details that separate this piece from a similar one rather than writing a vague note such as “miscellaneous.”
- Record the quantity, size, color, model, or set name when it matters.
- Note the condition or the repair that should happen before reuse.
- Keep a photo of the grouped item and its identifying detail.
2. Give it a physical home
The best location is a ventilated, reachable sports-storage area. group by activity and separate everyday gear from seasonal equipment. If the item is split between containers, record each container instead of pretending one label covers both.

3. Use a label that survives a move
