1. Record the item before it disappears
Start with the item name that you would actually search for: windshield sun shade. Add the details that separate this piece from a similar one rather than writing a vague note such as “miscellaneous.”
- Record the quantity, size, color, model, or set name when it matters.
- Note the condition or the repair that should happen before reuse.
- Keep a photo of the grouped item and its identifying detail.
2. Give it a physical home
